I have already obtained one VA Loan. Can I get another one?
Michael Jones
Department Representative
While VA Home Loans are the best option for a first time home buyer, you are not limited to a one time use of the benefit. In most cases, you are able to use your VA benefits to purchase a home throughout your lifetime, no matter how many times you may have used it in the past.
The VA home loan program is great for any home purchase whether it is your first home or your final dream home. In fact, most people aren’t aware of the fact that in some instances you are able to have up to two VA home loans guaranteed at a time as long as the new home purchase will be your primary residence. Our VA Specialists will do the work for you to make sure that you are able to take advantage of the full benefits the VA Home Loan program can offer you, no matter how many times you may have used the benefit in the past.
Can a lender obtain my Certificate of Eligibility for me?
Alex Taylor
Department Representative
Yes. However, it would be beneficial to prepare yourself by finding your DD-214 member 4, and retrieving and completing form 26-1880 from the VA's official web site. If you are currently active duty military, a statement of service is used in place of the DD-214.
How would I get proof of my military service?
Alex Taylor
Department Representative
Usually a DD-214 member 4 is used for proof of service. If you've lost your DD-214, contact your local VA office or your former Commanding Officer. If you are active military, request a Statement of Service from your commanding officer.
