The Harris Corporation, an information technology and international communications company, recently received a $9.6 million order for a program to enhance the IT systems of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
The company will provide product enhancements for six core administrative and financial legacy systems within the Veterans Health Administration. The order is a part of the VA's Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology (T4) contracting vehicle.
"This initial T4 task order opens the door for Harris to deepen its long-standing commitment to facilitating high-quality, accessible patient care for our nation's Veterans through enhanced clinical, business and financial information systems," said Jim Traficant, president of Harris Healthcare Solutions. "We will share our unique knowledge, skill and experience to help build IT solutions that ensure positive clinical outcomes and rewarding patient experiences for the Veterans at VA hospitals."
The T4 aims to supply the VA with IT services, with contracts awarded to a variety of different companies and a total ceiling value of $12 billion. Science Applications International Corporation and SRA International were recently awarded a contract under the project. The latter received a $480 million multi-award contract.
