Poll shows Americans worried about future of economy

As a result of the well-documented economic crisis in recent years, Americans are finding it harder to move on and look ahead. A recent poll shows that the continued economic uncertainty is causing some consumers to alter their financial behavior.
The latest Harris Poll surveyed 2,163 adults and found that 67 percent of Americans are implementing money-saving tactics by purchasing generic brands, which is up from 61 percent in February.
The poll found that Americans are doing other things to save money including bringing a sack lunch to work, going to the barber less often and cancelling unnecessary media subscriptions.
While employment numbers vary from state to state,
veterans benefits could receive a boost with one Montana senator introducing a bill that would increase job opportunities for veterans.
The bill would encourage the hiring of more veterans' job counselors in rural states to facilitate more employment opportunities for these veterans.
"The needs of veterans in rural Montana are far different from the needs of a veteran in an urban area," said Sen. Jon Tester. "My bill is a step towards making sure that Montana's veterans have equal access to the resources available as they look for work after their military service."
